Citizen association Volleyball Club STRUMICA 47&72 Strumica (VCStrumica) from N. Macedonia
VC STRUMICA 47&72 from Strumica is the most successful sports club in the municipality of Strumica, and one of the most successful men’s volleyball clubs in North Macedonia. The club behind it has a rich and long tradition.
The club was founded in 1947, and in its current history there has been no interruption in regular volleyball competitions organized in the previous and current states.
OK STRUMICA is the winner of the championship title in the first volleyball championship of independent Macedonia.
In 2008, with a decision on the two clubs – OK Strumica and the men’s team of OK Macedonia from Strumica merged, and the Club continued to compete as the only city men’s volleyball club from Strumica continuing the tradition of the older club OK Strumica and the younger club OK Macedonia (founded in 1972).
The club has attended many quality volleyball players with enviable international sports careers. A number of volleyball national team members have emerged from this club, starting with the first Macedonian national team player in the previous country – the great Nicolas Donev.
OK STRUMICA 47&72 is the winner of a total of 10 championship titles (1993, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023) and 9 Cup titles of Macedonia (2014, 2 The club is a real nursery of Macedonian volleyball players.
Your Organization’s Motivation to be a part of the Project
VC Strumica is motivated to participate in the project as it aligns with their mission to use sports as a tool for youth engagement and development. With a long history of training young athletes and organizing national and international competitions, the club aims to foster social inclusion and promote European Youth Goals through volleyball. Their role includes co-leading WP2 and hosting International Youth Mobility, contributing expertise in grassroots and elite sports training while supporting the implementation of all project activities.
